The Role
We are looking for a Pensions Associate/Senior Associate/Legal Director to join us, based in either of our Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds or London offices (with flexible hybrid working).
We are looking for someone to support the team in growing for the future. We provide commercial and client-based advice on all aspects of pension provision in both the public and private sectors. Experience of advising on public sector pensions would be helpful but not essential. We provide a full range of services to clients including creation, operation, restructuring, compliance and winding up issues for all types of pensions schemes.
Working as part of a national team, you will have the opportunity to support a diverse range of clients across the range of sectors in which we work. The depth and breadth of the markets in which we operate will provide the opportunity and flexibility to work on novel and complex pension law issues across both contentious and non-contentious matters.
We support pensions scheme investments and provide transactional support across all sectors of the firm including drafting pensions schedules and admission agreements and supporting lenders with advice around pensions risks on transactions.
In addition to the usual support for clients across all schemes we also help with defending ombudsman complaints, hostile claims against third parties and non-hostile high court proceedings.
What we are looking for from you
The successful candidate will have the following skill set/experience:
* Qualified solicitor with at least 2+ years' pensions experience
* Exceptional attention to detail
* Comfortable with multi-tasking and working to tight timescales
* Understands positive client support and helps to manage client expectations and project delivery both internally and externally
* Interest in business development
* Works co-operatively in a team sharing information and knowledge with more junior members
