Quality Control and Returns Warehouse Operative

OKA, a retailer of furniture and homeware with over 20 years of history, is seeking a detail-oriented Warehouse Operative to join our team at a Third-Party Logistics (3PL) site. Based in our Quality Control (QC) and Returns department, this role is crucial for maintaining product quality standards and ensuring customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include inspecting furniture products, managing customer returns, and supporting warehouse duties such as order picking and stock handling.

Key Responsibilities
* Conduct daily quality inspections to ensure products meet standards.
* Verify that all products for customer orders meet quality criteria before dispatch.
* Document defects and damages according to company standards.
* Measure and examine product dimensions, functionality, and surface finishes.
* Act as the product quality expert, ensuring standards are upheld.
* Complete detailed reports on inspection outcomes.
* Coordinate with teams to handle defective items and customer returns.
* Assist with stock picking, packing, and preparation for orders.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
* Work collaboratively to achieve operational goals.
* Provide feedback on incoming goods to improve quality.
* Perform additional tasks such as re-boxing and re-labelling as needed.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
* Suggest process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
About You
* Experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, preferably within a 3PL setting.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Good organizational and time management skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Physical ability to handle large furniture items.
* Experience with stock management systems (e.g., NetSuite) is advantageous.
* Polite, friendly, and communicative.
* Proficient in MS Office and computer skills.
* Understanding of premium brands and customer service standards.
* Flexible, adaptable, and proactive in a fast-paced environment.
