Be part of shaping and developing our IBD Clinical Nurse Specialist service at Imperial College NHS Trust. We have a new and enthusiastic IBD nursing team who are highly motivated to develop an excellent service and provide high‑quality care to our patients. We are recruiting a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist to work as part of this team, and in conjunction with a highly supportive multi‑disciplinary team provide care for patients referred to our tertiary specialist inflammatory bowel disease service. The IBD team consists of a Lead IBD CNS, three Band 7 IBD nurses, and administrative support, all of which provide clinical support to patients across all three sites.

Responsibilities
* Provide specialist nursing advice to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients, their relatives/carers and other health care professionals in collaboration with the multi‑professional team, in line with local and national targets.
* Provide telephone support/advice to patients, carers and other health care professionals to ensure high‑quality appropriate care and management for patients.
* Actively involved in the development of Trust policies and procedures, providing specialist input and leading their implementation.
* Participate in scheduled nurse‑led IBD clinics and manage and review patients on an urgent basis where necessary, to provide an expert, efficient service and effective contribution to chronic disease management.
* Maintain a suitable, clean, uncluttered and safe environment for the physical and psychological well‑being of staff, patients/clients and their relatives.
* Actively involved in staff education and development, including utilising appropriate learning opportunities and acting as a mentor and resource for student nurses, newly qualified members of the nursing team.
* Collate annual report with the Senior IBD CNS relating to own and team activity.
