The Role: Proposition Manager - 12 month FTC
The role of the Propositions team is to make sure that our propositions remain appropriate for their target market and deliver the promised outcomes throughout the customer journey.
As an experienced Propositions Manager, you will support the assessment, escalation, coordination, and resolution of relevant events/breaches under the oversight of the Propositions area.
Vital across all areas of accountability while be ensuring the customer is central to our thinking. We therefore need a high performing Proposition Manager with knowledge and experience of managing life and pensions propositions.
Key responsibilities:
To lead the assessment, escalation, coordination, and resolution of events/breaches under the oversight of the Propositions area. The role ensures events/breaches are managed in line with internal governance frameworks and regulatory expectations, providing specialist guidance, ensuring timely reporting, and supporting the organisation in preventing recurrence and reducing regulatory, customer, financial, and reputational impact.
1. Provide timely and definitive guidance on whether an incident constitutes a regulatory breach, using expertise and documented frameworks.
2. Assess impact, seriousness, regulatory significance, and potential customer detriment using risk and control frameworks.
3. Complete relevant event/breach documentation and/or reporting, including impact assessment, regulatory considerations, decisions, stakeholder contributions, and actions.
4. When required, support production of related papers, options analysis.
5. Act as the central coordination point on behalf of Propositions for relevant events with other stakeholders. For outsourcer involved events, ensure any necessary escalations occur swiftly and accurately.
6. Provide guidance to business areas on suitability of remediation options, and challenge where required.
7. Support agreement and delivery of corrective actions ensuring closure of events and prevention of recurrence.
8. Support completion of root cause analysis and review of controls, utilising risk frameworks and control libraries where applicable.
Required Skills and Experience
9. Wide product knowledge i.e. covering pensions, bonds and protection products.
10. Strong understanding of UK financial services regulatory environment (FCA, PRA, HMRC, ICO requirements).
11. Ability to analyse complex operational incidents, interpret regulatory implications, and form sound judgements.
12. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills for senior level engagement.
13. Experience working within structured governance or risk frameworks.
