A senior CAMHS leadership opportunity across Coastal West Sussex, offering system influence, multidisciplinary collaboration and a £45,000 Recruitment & Retention Package.
Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join the Coastal CAMHS locality team, working 0.5 FTE in Chichester and 0.5 FTE in Worthing. This is a substantive post within a well‑established and supportive service delivering evidence‑based care to children and young people aged 0–18.
About the role
You will provide high‑quality specialist psychiatric assessment and intervention across the Coastal CAMHS pathway, including pharmacological management and Mental Health Act assessments where required. The role sits within a friendly, multidisciplinary team including nurses, psychologists, systemic family therapists and child psychotherapists, working collaboratively to deliver NICE‑aligned treatment plans tailored to individual need.
This post offers genuine scope to influence service development, contribute to pathway redesign and work closely with fellow Consultants and Specialty Doctors across Sussex CAMHS. You will also benefit from being part of a Trust‑wide Consultant network with strong peer support structures.
Recruitment & Retention Package
This post attracts a £45,000 Recruitment & Retention Package structured over three years:
* Relocation expenses of up to £8,000 may also be available subject to policy.
Key responsibilities
* Specialist psychiatric assessment, formulation and treatment planning
* Medication management and MHA assessments where required
* Consultation and advice to GPs, social care and partner agencies
* Collaborative care planning with families and carers
* Supervision and support of junior medical staff
* Participation in service improvement and quality initiatives
* Contribution to teaching and training within a teaching Trust

About you
You will be GMC‑registered with Specialist Registration in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (or within six months) and Approved Clinician status or willingness to obtain. You will bring strong clinical judgement, leadership capability and a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary CAMHS delivery.
Location: Worthing Hospital & Chichester base (0.5 FTE each)
Hours: Full time – 10 PAs
