Transport Team Lead or Supervisor
We are seeking an experienced Transport Team Lead or Supervisor to join our Birmingham Depot. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) are met, and that customer expectations are exceeded. You will monitor operations to ensure they are carried out with attention to safety, security, and timeliness, fulfilling customer orders efficiently.
Role Responsibilities
* Drive depot KPIs related to quality and productivity while maintaining discipline, cleanliness, and optimal staffing levels for maximum efficiency.
* Ensure compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP), Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), and the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
* Collaborate closely with Sales Representatives regarding cut-off times, van routes, delivery schedules, and service levels.
* Maintain asset-tracking devices and monitor driver vehicle checks.
* Support the induction and ongoing training of transport staff to ensure they are multi-skilled and prepared to meet operational demands.
This role requires standing and walking for most of the shift, with physical ability to lift products up to 15kg, as well as bending, twisting, kneeling, and crouching.
Key Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications
* Proven multi-drop driving experience
* Understanding of laws and regulations related to Health & Safety
* Well organized
* Desirable qualifications include IOSH, First Aid, and Fire Marshall certifications
