GCSE Outreach Tutor
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Prospero Teaching is looking for a committed GCSE Outreach Tutor to provide personalised education packages on a 1:1 basis to students who are currently not attending school.
This role focuses on supporting learners preparing for their GCSE exams, often including core subjects such as English, Maths, and Science. Many of these students may have experienced disruptions to their education, so your ability to build rapport, restore confidence, and create structured learning.
As a GCSE Tutor, you will:
1. Plan and deliver tailored lessons that address gaps in knowledge and align with GCSE specifications.
2. Use creative and flexible strategies to boost engagement and attainment, adapting to each student’s learning style.
3. Provide a safe, positive, and motivating experience that helps students feel prepared and confident for their exams.
Prospero Teaching will work closely with you throughout the placement, offering resources, guidance, and regular progress reviews to ensure effective outcomes for every learner.

11. Full time/part time – Flexible (part-time and full-time options available)
12. Minimum rate of pay – £25 per hour
13. Hours – Sessions typically range from 1 to 3 hours, scheduled around pupil availability
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
14. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, PGCE, or equivalent
15. Minimum 6 months’ experience working in a UK school setting
16. Experience teaching GCSE-level subjects is essential
17. Up-to-date Safeguarding training
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
18. Hold Right to Work in the UK
19. Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to apply for one
20. Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years
