Job Title: Construction Associate / Solicitor (1 years PQE to 5 years PQE) Salary: £55,000 to £75,000 per annum Location: Leeds City Centre (Hybrid Working) Contract: Full Time, Permanent Overview Our client is an award-winning legal firm based in Leeds City Centre, recognised for its excellent workplace culture and strong reputation in construction law. Due to continued growth within their specialist construction team, the firm is looking to recruit a Construction Associate (1 Years PQE to 5 years' PQE). This is an excellent opportunity for a construction lawyer seeking exposure to high-quality work within a leading Legal 500 practice. The role offers flexibility to focus on contentious construction, non-contentious construction, or a mixed caseload, depending on the successful candidate's background and career aspirations. Position The successful candidate will work on a broad range of construction matters acting for developers, contractors, sub-contractors, consultants and other commercial clients. The caseload can be tailored to include: Contentious construction work, such as adjudications, mediations, arbitration, TCC litigation, payment disputes, delay and disruption claims, defect claims, professional negligence, and final account disputes. Non-contentious construction work, including drafting and negotiating building contracts (JCT, NEC and bespoke forms), consultant appointments, collateral warranties, development agreements, framework agreements, and advising on risk management and project support. Key responsibilities include drafting and negotiating construction documentation; advising clients on risk allocation and dispute strategy; managing adjudications and other dispute resolution procedures; preparing pleadings, witness statements and evidence; representing clients in negotiations and ADR; and working closely with partners on complex, high-value matters. Key Details The firm offers a competitive salary of £55,000 to £75,000 per annum, depending on experience, alongside a comprehensive benefits package.
