The Role:
This Teaching Assistant role is based in a welcoming primary school in the Portsmouth area, seeking a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join their KS2 team on a full:time, long:term basis. This Teaching Assistant position is for year 5 and to start ASAP and will continue for the rest of the school year (with the chance to extend further).
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be working on a general basis across year 5 classrooms, while also providing additional support to pupils with SEND. This Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who is proactive, nurturing, and confident supporting a range of needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support learning as a Teaching Assistant across the primary age range
* Provide general classroom support as a Teaching Assistant
* Work 1:1 and in small groups supporting pupils with SEND
* Help adapt resources to suit different learning needs
* Support pupil engagement and behaviour as a Teaching Assistant
* Work closely with the class teacher and wider staff team
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
* Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary setting
* Experience supporting SEND pupils is highly desirable
* A patient, caring, and proactive approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A genuine passion for supporting childrens learning and development
