Job Description
As a School Crossing Patrol Officer, you will play a vital role in community safety by ensuring children and other members of the community cross the road safely at designated points during specified times.
No formal qualifications are necessary, but the ability to cope in all weather conditions, good road sense, knowledge of the Highway Code/Green Cross Code, and previous experience working with children are desirable.
It is essential that you can attend the patrol point daily at school opening and closing times in all weather conditions, including short-notice attendance in case of unscheduled school closures.
Working hours: mainly 08:15 am to 09:10 am and 2:50 pm to 3:25 pm.
You will earn a competitive salary of £22,525.71 (pro rata) and have access to various benefits, including:

The Person
Training in safe crossing procedures will be provided. You will need to complete an annual Occupational Health Surveillance Questionnaire and attend Occupational Health Assessments as necessary.
Before starting, you must obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and join the relevant PVG scheme. You will also be required to attend induction training before commencing the role.
