Are you practical, organised and passionate about supporting high quality construction training? CITB is looking for a motivated Curriculum Support Worker to join our team in Bircham Newton, helping ensure our instructors, lecturers and learners have everything they need to succeed.
Hours of Work: Full-time (35 hours per week)
Working Pattern: Monday – Thursday 8am to 4:30pm with 30 minutes lunchbreak and Fridays 8am to 11am
Contract: Permanent
Grade: TM2
Target Salary: £28,784 per annum
Location: NCC East, Bircham Newton, King's Lynn, Norfolk, PE31 6RH
Special Requirements: Duties include transporting, lifting, and handling equipment/materials as part of daily operations.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, varied role where no two days are the same. You'll play a key part in preparing training areas, maintaining equipment, and supporting the smooth running of workshops and practical classes across our curriculum areas.
What you'll be doing:
Maintain training areas and workshops to exceptionally high standards
Ensure all tools, equipment, plant and resources are prepared, inspected and ready for use
Check that construction plant carries the correct examination certification
Promote a safe working environment by upholding all health and safety policies
Prepare plant, equipment and materials for training, assessments and End Point Assessments (EPA)
Monitor stock levels, raising orders when replenishment is needed
Carry out inspections on plant, lifting equipment and workshop tools, logging outcomes
Dispose of waste safely and in environmentally responsible ways
Manage storage areas and maintain an organised, accountable system for equipment and materials
Work alongside the Estates team to log and monitor facility improvement works
Operate construction plant where required to support training activities
Assist with unloading materials safely using appropriate equipment
Support practical classes, demonstrations and instructors as needed
Contribute to team meetings and uphold CITB's values and behaviours
Model fairness, inclusion and respect, challenging inappropriate behaviours professionally
Support a safe, inclusive learning environment and follow all safeguarding procedures
Build strong relationships with industry partners and stay up to date with sector changes
What we're looking for:
Essential
Level 2 vocational qualification relevant to the role (e.g Groundworks or similar construction-based qualification)
Relevant licences to practice (or willingness to achieve within 6 months) e.g. machinery operating license, excavator, telehandler
First Aid qualification (or achieved within 6 months)
Experience using Microsoft 365
Strong organisational skills
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Hold a Level 2 qualification or higher in English and maths or demonstrate proficiency at Level 2 or above through a recognised assessment in both subjects
Driving Licence
Desirable
Knowledge of current industry practices
Relevant industry experience in a similar or related role
