World Class Defence Organisation is currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer subcontractor on an initial 6 month contract. Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Rate: £50.00 per hour Location: Stevenage or Bristol (depending on your preference) Hybrid / Remote working: 4 days a week likely onsite (likely could be lower on a week by week basis; depending on work). 1 day remote. (flexible on start and finish time). A compressed 4 day week (Monday to Thursday) a possibility. Responsibilities: Carry out Mechanical Design and proving activities as part of a wider team for prime and variant products, of both piece parts and assemblies. Support/liaise with manufacturing, resolving manufacturing problems & defects. Support to functional & environmental testing and trials. Liaise with suppliers/purchasing to resolve any technical queries that may arise. Planning and reporting on own day-to-day activities to meet project milestones.
