Join Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Teaching Hospitals as our Highly Specialist Pharmacist for Women's Health.
This role is ideal for pharmacists seeking to develop their leadership, operational, and clinical expertise within their specialty.
You will be part of the well-established Women's Health multidisciplinary team, responsible for services across maternity and gynaecology units, general women's health admissions, outpatient services, and the assisted conception unit at Wrightington.
The Women's Health Pharmacist will collaborate closely with the Lead Pharmacist for Children's Health and be supported by the Principal Pharmacist for Surgery to ensure safe medicines management, service improvements, cost projects, and medicines governance within Women's Health.

Main duties of the job
1. Participate in consultant-led ward rounds, ensuring safe pharmaceutical care from admission to discharge, and work directly with patients and carers to support medication adherence.
2. Develop your skills to become a manager, a clinical expert, or a hybrid of both.
3. Gain managerial experience through guideline development, audits, and cost management.
4. Contribute to education and training of healthcare professionals from student level upwards.
5. Maintain skills across clinical areas with occasional cover sessions and on-call duties, working closely with the Children's Health team for seamless service.
This position involves participation in late duty, weekend, bank holiday, and on-call rotas.
