Job Description
Zendesk is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our global communications leadership team and lead external communications for the EMEA region. This role requires a seasoned communications executive with exceptional UK media relationships and understanding of the UK media landscape, strong storytelling and internal stakeholder management skills and the ability to drive cross-functional and cross-regional initiatives. This role will lead a team of EMEA-based PR professionals with agency support in the UK, France and Germany. This role will report to the Vice President of Global Communications.
What you’ll do:
* Work closely with the global communications team and regional leadership to develop, refine, and execute key global and local storytelling initiatives and support global and local company announcements
* Serve as an acting member of the global communications leadership team, building the culture & team within the region as well as contributing to the broader global communications team’s culture
* Drive PR results for the UK as well as lead quarterly planning for the region, collaborating with global counterparts to ensure alignment and message consistency
* Work closely and collaboratively with the Zendesk internal communications team to ensure regional internal communications are reflective of what’s timely and topical for employees in that region
* Manage agency support to drive results while ensuring budget targets are delivered in line with forecasts
* Lead and engage in strategic projects as requested
What you bring to the role:
* Minimum 12+ years of Communications experience, including within large functional teams
* 5+ years of experience specifically in tech/SaaS and / or CX
* 2+ years of leadership experience, managing a team of two or more people
* Native English speaker; language skills in French and German bonus
* Ability to be both hands on and drive strategic planning / offer strategic counsel
* Strong oral and written communication. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
* Strong executive presence, engaging with senior leaders as a trusted partner
* Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to influence others to achieve desired outcomes
* Ability to amplify the success of others through coaching and mentoring
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
* Enthusiasm for process improvement and demonstrated experience implementing new solution
