TEXO Recruitment are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of new build housing projects, with a strong emphasis on civil engineering works including roads, sewers, and associated infrastructure. The role is also open to an Assistant Quantity Surveyor ready to step up into a Quantity Surveyor position.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation and agreement of interim valuations and final accounts
* Procurement and commercial management of subcontractors, including orders, warranties, and pre-order meetings
* Administration of subcontract accounts, including variations, dayworks, delays, defects, and relevant notices
* Assessment, certification, and payment of subcontractor applications, including contra charges
* Measurement of quantities from drawings and on site
* Evaluation and control of variations and provisional sums
* Weekly payments for direct labour and plant
* Control and monitoring of material costs
* Production of internal valuations, cost value reconciliations (CVRs), and subcontract liabilities in line with reporting deadlines
* Close collaboration with the Site Manager and delivery team to monitor progress, preliminaries, and margin performance
* Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation
* Identify and notify delays in conjunction with the Commercial Manager
* Take-offs and preparation of bills of quantities to support tender submissions

Experience & Qualifications
* Minimum HND (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
* Essential: Experience within new build housing
* Strong preference: Background in civils/infrastructure (roads, sewers, drainage)
* Role is open to Assistant Quantity Surveyors with suitable experience seeking career progression
