Are you passionate about supporting young learners and helping them thrive in a primary school environment? GSL Education is currently recruiting enthusiastic and caring Primary Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Barnsley. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the academic and social development of pupils in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to ensure pupils remain engaged and make progress.
* Assist the class teacher in delivering fun, engaging, and differentiated lessons.
* Support pupils with special educational needs (SEN), behavioural challenges, or additional learning needs.
* Help foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.
* Encourage pupil confidence, independence, and participation in classroom activities.
* Supervise children during playtimes, lunchtimes, and other school-based activities.
Requirements:
* Experience working with primary-aged children (e.g., in schools, tutoring, or childcare settings).
* A good understanding of SEN, Autism, ADHD, and behaviour management techniques is desirable.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A patient, flexible, and proactive approach to supporting learning.
* Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
* An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
