Who are we? We are FBC, Fox's Burton's Companies. We bake the UK's most incredible biscuits and bring together Burton's Biscuits and Fox's Biscuits to create one integrated company. We are home to iconic brands including Maryland, Fox's, Jammie Dodger and Rocky, among others. We operate eight bakeries across the UK (Isle of Arran, Livingston, Blackpool, Llantarnam, Edinburgh, Kirkham, Batley and Dorset) and support services in St Albans, Liverpool and Moreton. What does your typical day look like?
To support the safe, effective and efficient use of our production equipment by quickly addressing any failures during production. Ensure that all maintenance work, inspections, repairs and planned preventative maintenance are completed to the required standards. Assist in improving the reliability of the site equipment by completing work reports accurately and helping to prioritise engineering work to drive improved reliability.
Key actions include:
* Provide an efficient and effective proactive maintenance service by carrying out planned maintenance across the site in an accurate, timely and safe manner, ensuring maintenance procedures are followed.
* Communicate and action electrical issues daily, providing root causes and assisting with follow-up activities.
* Respond to and diagnose equipment breakdowns, resolve issues and action repairs.
* Assist the Electrical Manager with maintaining compliance and electrical standards; support training and development of other engineering/electrical personnel and apprentices.
* Be aware of electrical issues daily and proactively seek and recommend improvement opportunities.
* Provide technical knowledge to resolve problems; manage contractors and resources while maintaining quality and standards.
* Record all completed work in the CMMS system.
Key qualifications and experience
* Qualified to HNC/TEC level in electrical/electronic engineering or equivalent.
* Minimum 3 years post-apprenticeship experience in process/manufacturing or a similar engineering environment.
* Working knowledge of current IEE electrical wiring regulations and Electricity at Work Regulations.
* Proven ability to use electrical test and measuring equipment; read electrical circuit diagrams.
* Experience with single and three-phase distribution and control systems; PLC-controlled systems; variable speed drives.
* Experience with process control systems (open and closed loop), instrumentation, and temperature control systems.
* Experience with electrical installation work using cable trays, conduits, SWA and pyrotechnics relevant to electrical work.
* Ability to work as part of a team and work unsupervised when needed; strong diagnostic skills in a fast-moving environment.
* Experience managing contractors and resources while maintaining quality and standards.
* Proficiency with PC-based applications and CMMS.
