Publicity Manager - Good Morning Britain
Do you want to shape the conversation around one of the UK’s most talked about and influential TV shows? This is your chance to join the team behind Good Morning Britain — the award-winning breakfast programme that sets the national agenda, breaks big stories, and delivers headline-making interviews every single day.
We’re looking for an exceptional Publicity Manager to lead the publicity strategy for GMB. This isn’t just another comms role: it’s your opportunity to be at the heart of the news cycle, drive coverage across every platform, and work with some of the most recognisable on-screen talent in television.
Why this role?
* You’ll be steering publicity for a programme watched by millions — one of the UK’s most high-profile and talked-about shows
* You’ll shape the public narrative every morning, spotting the lines that will dominate the day’s agenda
* You’ll get to flex your creativity, devising innovative campaigns that cut through across press, broadcast, digital media, and social platforms
* You’ll collaborate with brilliant teams at ITV and ITN — from marketing and social to commissioning and production — to deliver cohesive campaigns with real impact
* You’ll play a key role in managing the show’s reputation, ensuring GMB remains at the forefront of trusted, agenda-setting television
Key Responsibilities:
* Drive proactive, long-term publicity strategies that keep GMB in the headlines and in the hearts of viewers
* Lead daily promotion of the live show, from spotlighting exclusive interviews to ensuring key stories reach the right journalists at the right time
* Build and maintain excellent media relationships, from national news desks to digital-first creators and influencers
* Craft creative, calendar-spanning campaigns to showcase our on-screen talent
* Anticipate and manage reputational issues with authority and sensitivity
* Pioneer digital and influencer strategies that take GMB beyond traditional audiences
Key Requirements:
* A proven Publicity Manager with extensive experience either in-house or agency-side
* Excellent news sense and experience in a fast-paced news or current affairs environment
* Strong crisis/reputation management skills
* Brilliant copywriting skills and sharp media instincts
* Extensive contacts across media — including digital platforms, social, influencers, print, radio and TV
* Experience working with high-profile talent and an ability to devise creative, strategic campaigns
* Someone calm under pressure, with the flexibility to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
* A passion for innovation in publicity and an eye for the next big opportunity
We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from diverse candidates. We are committed to creating a workforce that reflects the diversity of our audience and the wider society in the UK.
