Champion Workwear is a Kettering based Workwear and PPE company, recruiting a Print & Embroidery Production Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong technical knowledge and leadership skills, who is passionate about delivering high-quality results and driving efficiency in production.
Our Print & Embroidery Production Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of our production department, including vinyl printing, DTF transfer printing and embroidery. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and organisational skills to ensure production deadlines are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This role will allow you to put your expertise into practice while supporting the continued growth of Champion Workwear.
Key Responsibilities
* Leadership & Team Management
* Supervise and train production staff in print and embroidery techniques.
* Schedule and allocate daily workloads to meet customer deadlines.
* Foster a safe, positive, and productive work environment.
* Production Oversight
* Manage the workflow of printing and embroidery operations from order intake to final output.
* Ensure machines and equipment (embroidery, vinyl cutter and heat press) are maintained and serviced regularly.
* Monitor stock levels of consumables (threads, inks, transfers, screens, backing) and coordinate with purchasing.
* Quality Assurance
* Oversee proofing and sampling processes to ensure designs meet customer specifications.
* Implement and enforce quality control standards across all production lines.
* Troubleshoot technical issues with machinery, digitised files, or garment compatibility.
* Process Improvement & Efficiency
* Identify bottlenecks and implement strategies to optimise production timelines.
* Standardise workflows and documentation for greater accuracy and consistency.
* Stay updated on new technologies, materials, and methods to improve production capabilities.
* Customer & Order Management
* Collaborate with sales and operations teams to ensure smooth handovers from order placement to delivery.
* Assist with technical recommendations for garment customisation based on client requirements.
* Ensure all orders are produced on time, within budget, and to specification.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience in a production management role.
* Strong knowledge of garment printing methods (vinyl cutter, heat transfer, DTF) and embroidery techniques.
* Hands-on technical skills with embroidery machines and printing equipment.
* Excellent leadership, team management, and organisational skills.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
* Knowledge of production scheduling and workflow optimisation.
* Proficiency with design and digitising software (e.g., Wilcom, Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW) is an advantage.
