With decades of expertise, they work alongside leading main contractors and developers on a diverse range of projects, from heritage restoration to modern large-scale developments. Due to continued growth and a robust pipeline of work, they are now seeking a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor. We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial and cost aspects of construction projects valued between £250k and £4m. Working as part of a dedicated commercial team, you will play an integral role in ensuring projects are delivered on budget, on time, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities Prepare, analyse, and manage bills of quantities, cost estimates, budgets, and interim valuations Monitor project finances to ensure adherence to budget and identify cost-saving opportunities Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations Prepare and submit cost value reconciliations (CVRs), financial reports, and sales/estimating documentation Lead the review of supply chain tender returns and negotiate subcontract packages Attend internal pre-start meetings and manage internal QA handover processes post-contract award Work autonomously across multiple projects, liaising closely with design teams, project managers, clients, and key stakeholders Support the preparation and negotiation of variations and final accounts Ensure all commercial processes align with company policies and industry standards Qualifications & Experience Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, within a specialist sub-contractor environment Strong knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts; experience with RC frame, industrial, civil engineering, or highways projects is desirable Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills Proficiency in QS software and the Microsoft Office suite Chartered status (RICS or equivalent) is advantageous but not essential Personal Attributes Commercially minded with strong financial and contractual awareness Driven, motivated and ambitious Collaborative in approach with a desire to develop their expertise and commercial skills Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team Strong relationship-building skills with clients, contractors, and supply chain partners
