Role
We are looking for a personal assistant to help a 64-year-old female who has a diagnosis of a rare neurological condition which causes pain in her legs and may lead to mobility issues. The condition also causes sensory issues, so pacing and being aware that strong smells, lights, sounds, etc. can impact her body’s ability to cope. We ask that the applicant does not wear strong perfumes or Lenor fabric softener, for example.
Responsibilities
* Outings and activities
* Personal care (minimal and only when required)
* Light housework
* Meal prep
* Medication prompt
* Assistance with chopping and lifting; accompaniment when out to reduce the risk of stumbles or falls
* Support with activities the client enjoys (painting, local wildlife, going for a coffee)
Qualifications and Qualities
We would ask that you write a small paragraph about yourself which will allow the client to gain a better idea of why you would like to have this post. Applicants must have a caring attitude, a good sense of humour, be reliable with a positive and flexible approach to work. Having experience within this area would be of benefit.
Checks and Requirements
This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups). You will be asked to provide a copy of your PVG certificate to your new employer for their records.
