About the Role
The Executive Scientific Director is a core member of the Medical team. You will craft clinical and commercial insights, mentor and coach the team and provide insights to inform the company’s strategic plan.
Key Responsibilities
* Direct the scientific strategy across a portfolio of client accounts (£4M), building client relationships by providing strategic medical insight to win new business.
* Establish high‑level scientific and strategic partnerships with clients and experts, leading team understanding.
* Partner closely with clients as a coach and sounding board for their scientific strategy.
* Demonstrate expert level understanding of client scientific and commercial strategy while staying abreast of latest medical/scientific advances.
* Collaborate with the Scientific Director to ensure high levels of scientific and strategic excellence across programmes.
* Generate new business growth with Client Services and lead development of scientific proposals.
* Build internal partnerships with other capabilities to deliver the portfolio plan on time and to budget.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven leadership skills and experience managing large teams, including recruitment, line management and team development.
* A willingness to constructively challenge colleagues, other agencies and clients alike.
* Comfortable advising and collaborating with extended team members.
* Knowledge of financial management and budgets for projects.
* Senior scientific writing experience.
* Proven track record in scientific content generation within an omnichannel environment (medical communications, advertising, PR, digital, clinical trial recruitment).
