We are looking for an experienced Bid Writer to join our internal Win Work Operations team. This role will support our Win Work efforts by writing compelling, high-quality proposals that win work across our consulting, engineering and technology portfolio. You will work closely with technical experts, business leaders, and the wider proposals team to develop responses that clearly articulate our compelling value proposition and align with client requirements. The primary focus of this role will be to create compelling written content for our bids, but the role will also support development of Win Work collateral in the form of case studies. The role will also be a subject matter expert for bid writing within the Win Work Operations team, setting and championing best practice, and supporting the development of bid writing skills across our workforce. This role reports to the Win Work Operations Director and works closely with our client‑facing Win Work teams and wider proposal teams daily.
Responsibilities
* Lead the development and writing of high‑quality, client‑focused proposals and tender responses.
* Collaborate with technical teams to translate complex information into clear, persuasive written content.
* Ensure all submissions are compliant, compelling, and client focused.
* Support the development of bid strategies, win themes, and value propositions.
* Develop, manage and maintain a library of reusable content and case studies.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of bid processes, tools, and templates.
* Participate in bid reviews and lessons learned sessions.
Qualifications
* Proven experience writing winning bids in a consulting, engineering and technology environment.
* Strong understanding of the Shipley proposal development process or similar structured bid methodologies.
* Excellent writing, editing, and proofing skills with a keen eye for detail.
* Ability to interpret technical information and present it in a client‑friendly format; familiarity with public and private sector procurement processes.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
* Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
* Proactive, self‑motivated, and able to work as part of a team. Creative thinker with a strategic mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
* Resilient under pressure and adaptable to changing priorities.
* APMP certification or equivalent is advantageous.
* Experience working in a matrixed or global organization; experience with proposal automation tools.
