This is a key pastoral role, supporting pupils, parents, and staff to build strong home–school links, reduce persistent absence, and ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.
Key responsibilities include:
* Acting as the first point of contact for parents/carers regarding attendance and safeguarding.
* Building positive relationships with families and children to address barriers to learning.
* Creating and monitoring pastoral support plans for pupils with attendance or wellbeing concerns.
* Maintaining accurate records and contributing to the effective monitoring of attendance, behaviour, and safeguarding data.
* Undertaking home visits and liaising with external agencies.
* Supporting smooth transitions for pupils joining or leaving the school.
* Acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Essential qualities:
We are looking for someone who can bring:
* Minimum Grade C GCSE in English and Maths (or equivalent).
* Experience of working with professionals, parents/carers, and young people.
* Ability to use initiative while working well in a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Confidence in interacting with pupils.
* Strong ICT skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to prioritise, stay organised, and meet deadlines.
* Discretion, reliability, and the ability to make sound decisions.
* Awareness of safeguarding and child protection.
* A caring, calm, and positive approach.
Desirable qualities:
* Educated to Level 4/5 or equivalent experience.
* Experience working in a school environment.
