Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site Mechanical Engineer role based in Milton Keynes. The Mechanical Engineer will design, develop, and refine mechanical components and systems, taking projects from initial concept through detailed design and into production. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include creating and reviewing CAD models and drawings, performing basic calculations and design analyses, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure technical requirements and timelines are met. The role involves supporting research and development activities, participating in prototyping and testing, documenting design changes, and contributing to continuous improvement of products and processes. The Mechanical Engineer will also assist with project coordination, communicate progress to stakeholders, and help resolve technical issues during manufacturing and installation.
Qualifications
* Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to apply core principles to real‑world design and problem‑solving.
* Proficiency in Machine Design, including selection of materials, components, and mechanisms for reliable, cost‑effective performance.
* Hands‑on experience with Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling, drafting, and design modifications.
* Experience in Research and Development (R&D), including prototyping, testing, data analysis, and iteration based on findings.
* Project Management capabilities, such as planning tasks, coordinating with stakeholders, tracking milestones, and managing technical documentation.
* Relevant engineering degree (e.g., BEng or MEng in Mechanical Engineering or related field) or equivalent practical experience.
* Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail and quality.
* Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines in an on‑site environment.
* Familiarity with industry standards, safety practices, and basic manufacturing processes is an advantage.
