SEND Support worker – Horsham, Surrey

We are seeking caring, motivated and proactive Education Support Workers to join our team across local primary, secondary and SEN school settings. This is a rewarding role where you will support children and young people to engage in learning, develop confidence and reach their full potential.
About the Role
As an Education Support Worker, you will:
1. Provide personalised support to pupils with additional needs, including SEND, behavioural needs, or social/emotional challenges
2. Assist students with accessing learning activities, ensuring they remain engaged and motivated
3. Help pupils with daily routines such as transitions, organisation, sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing
4. Support class teachers by preparing resources, adapting work and reinforcing key learning
5. Promote positive behaviour and model effective communication strategies
6. Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage independence and resilience
7. Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and external professionals to ensure consistent support
8. Maintain accurate records and follow all safeguarding policies and procedures
What We’re Looking For
9. A warm, patient and empathetic approach
10. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
11. Reliability, professionalism and a genuine passion for helping children
12. Experience in education, childcare, SEN, youth work or mental health settings (desirable but not essential)
13. Ability to remain calm and solution-focused during challenging situations
14. A valid enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
