Apprentice Water Network Operative role at United Living Group. This is an exciting time to join United Living on our Apprenticeship Programme as the business grows and we have a significant order book of secured future projects.
Our Infrastructure Services business delivers critical resilient infrastructure that improves daily life by partnering with our clients to achieve sustainable outcomes for their customers and communities. You will join our Water division, a national provider of infrastructure and non-infrastructure water and wastewater services to UK water utility companies.
Responsibilities
* Excavate holes using safe digging methods to avoid damage to underground utility apparatus
* Move materials, plant and equipment
* Install pipes and fittings to the appropriate standards, ensuring good jointing and hygiene practices are followed
* Maintain site, vehicle, plant and equipment tidiness and security
* Carry out safety checks and inspections of vehicles, plant, equipment and sites and maintain safety, environmental and quality records
Programme and Training
You’ll be enrolled onto the Level 2 Water Network Operative Apprenticeship. The programme is 18–21 months long and delivered by one of our training partners. The training includes guided discussions and workshops as well as independent learning and portfolio development. You will receive one-to-one support from your tutor or coach and regular reviews with your line manager to monitor progress.
Upon successful completion, you will have achieved:
* Level 2 Water Network Operative Apprenticeship
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have achieved, or be predicted to achieve in Summer 2025:
* GCSEs at Grade 3–1/D–G or Level 1 Functional Skills in English and Mathematics
* Basic IT skills and ability to use Microsoft Office packages (e.g., Outlook, Word)
* Good organisation, time management and communication skills
* Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in all weather
* Valid UK driving licence
You should also be available to start full-time work in September 2025 and have:
* Commitment to live and embody our company values during work and study
