Vacancy details: Food Service Assistant (Ref: 225019), Substantive Post, Part Time 8 hours per week, Monday and Thursday 11:00 – 15:00.
Hours of work for this post will be day shifts Monday to Friday.
Band 2 - Salary Range £25,694 - £27,900 per annum (pro rata). Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £2,482 per annum (pro rata). Hourly rate of pay weekdays £14.59 - £15.74.
A vacancy has arisen for a Food Service Assistant within our busy cafe, serving staff and members of the public. You will be part of everything — a bit of cooking, chatting to customers, cleaning, cash handling, ensuring safety standards are followed, and being part of a team that provides an important service to our busy healthcare staff.
Responsibilities
* Provide food service in a busy cafe, serving staff and members of the public.
* Assist with cooking tasks as required.
* Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the cafe and work areas.
* Handle cash and manage basic transactions accurately.
* Work as part of a team to support a quality catering service for patients, staff and visitors.
Qualifications and Experience
* Good level of basic education and good communication skills.
* Ability to follow instructions and participate in initial training and induction.
* Willingness to learn on-the-job with support from the manager and colleagues.
* Eligible to work in the UK without the need for sponsorship (as per current Gov.uk guidance).
Training and Development
* Induction standards and Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers to be complied with within 3 months of starting (details can be viewed on Gov.uk).
* Opportunity to develop skills in other areas of the facilities team if wished (e.g., domestic, catering or laundry).
