Key duties and responsibilities
* Manage a mixed case load of formal insolvency appointments and assist team members.
* Administer insolvency cases from initial advice to case closure, including Administrations, CVLs, MVLs, Liquidations, CVAs, and occasionally, Bankruptcies.
* Address and adjudicate creditors’ claims, including retention of title, secured, preferential, and unsecured claims.
* Report to secured creditors.
* Assist in continuing on-site trading when required.
* Prepare documentation for statutory meetings.
* Assist employees with claims and liaise with redundancy payments services.
* Handle day-to-day correspondence, including non-standard communications.
* Maintain accurate books and records, ensuring their safekeeping and proper storage.
* Conduct statutory investigations and pursue antecedent transactions.
* Manage estate monies through banking and cheque requests.
* Complete VAT and Corporation tax returns.
* Ensure compliance with statutory legislation, including SIPS.
* Maintain and update case tasks and diaries.
* Coordinate with professional agents, solicitors, and accountants.
* Prepare supporting documents for sale contracts.
* Update and maintain case checklists.
* Attend and assist at meetings, both in and out of the office.
* Participate in marketing events as required.
* Delegate work and provide training and support to junior staff.
Reporting, relationships & management
* Support and train staff, delegate tasks.
* Assist other case executives as needed.
* Report case progress to IP.
Qualifications & experience
* AAT or CPI qualification is advantageous but not mandatory.
* Experience with corporate formal insolvency appointments in an IP firm is required.
* Knowledge of IPS Cloud is advantageous but not mandatory.
* Proficient in IT, including Excel, Word, and IPS.
* Maintain high professional standards and conduct.
* Stay updated with practice and legislation changes.
* Organize and manage time effectively, with flexibility.
* Communicate confidently and clearly.
* Maintain a professional manner and good interpersonal skills.
* Take responsibility for work quality and deadlines.
* Keep IP updated on case progress and issues.
* Show enthusiasm and commitment to tasks, seeing them through to completion.
* Promote the firm positively at networking events.
