Job Overview
We are seeking an Electronics Technician to join our Calibration & Maintenance Team to conduct planned calibration of various Special to Type Test Equipment (STTE). The work is extremely varied, interesting and challenging. You will join a dynamic and focussed team responsible for supporting the manufacturing function across all stages of product assembly, integration and test. The team is self‑motivated and works directly with support functions and engineers across MBDA to resolve routine and non‑routine tasks arising within the business. You will work within an experienced team of Calibration & Maintenance Engineers supporting complex test platforms in the manufacture and test of complex missile systems. You will be trained to calibrate and support special to type factory test equipment using a range of technologies, from DC to Microwave. Annual reviews assess and plan future development opportunities to widen your overall engineering knowledge. Teamwork and knowledge sharing are essential to the team ethos as is understanding workload and throughput achievements.
Responsibilities
* Work in a multidisciplinary team to support the Operations team.
* Ensure factory and proprietary test and measuring equipment are maintained in line with current procedures.
* Carry out repair tasks in accordance with departmental processes and procedures.
* Generate clear and comprehensive maintenance records for traceability purposes.
Qualifications
* Electrical Engineering/Manufacturing Apprenticeship (Advanced Level or L3 Standard).
* Electrical Engineering/Manufacturing Level 3 academic qualification (ONC, diploma, etc.).
* Electrical Engineering/Manufacturing Level 3 vocational qualification (NVQ).
* Experience and knowledge in the calibration of test equipment and some knowledge in maintenance of test systems to component level would be preferable.
* Able to utilise instructions, handbooks, drawings or specifications to provide technical advice or guidance, and to conduct appropriate measurements and repairs down to component level.
* Good understanding of calibration principles and processes.
* Able to deal with multiple issues, tasks and priorities concurrently.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Good attitude to quality and safety.
Benefits & Compensation
* Salary: Circa £42,000 depending on experience.
* Dynamic (hybrid) working: 5 days per week on-site due to workload classification.
* Security Clearance: British Citizen or dual UK national with British citizenship; restrictions may apply.
* Secure HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS) conducted by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
* Company bonus: Up to £2,500 (based on company performance and will vary year to year).
