Job Description:
We are proud to be the largest family owned and family-run wine importer in the UK. We have been selling premium wine since 1964 and our expertise has grown along with our award-winning portfolio. The wineries we represent are like us – progressive and fiercely independent – and we sell their premium wines to our ever-growing customer base, which includes both the on and off trade.
We are seeking a Customer Service Executive to join our friendly team in our office based just outside York. You will join a busy and organised department who work collaboratively to deliver a first-class service. You will need to have excellent data entry skills as this role requires a high level of accuracy, both when speaking to our customers and capturing their requests in an order on our internal system. You must have a good command of English and numeracy.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to articulately assist our customers, by both phone and email. Being a team player is vital for this role – as well as our customers, you will be regularly interacting with internal departments such as sales, transport and inventory. This is a varied role where no day is the same – you will need to quickly learn about our customer needs, transport plans, product categories and much more. You will ideally have experience in a fast-paced office environment, the ability to work to deadlines and to proactively handle any queries that may arise.
You will need to have good IT skills – some experience of working with CRM databases would be an advantage. This is a great opportunity for a passionate and upbeat candidate who is ready for a fast-paced and challenging role. You will also have the unique opportunity for training on our wine portfolio.
OFFER –The appointed candidate will be given the below package:
* Competitive starting salary up to £23,000 per annum dependent upon experience
* Access to our Employee Assistance Programme to help support your wellbeing
* Enhanced Maternity and Paternity pay
* 25 days annual leave (rising to 26 days after 5 years, 27 days after 10 years)
* Enrolment to company pension scheme following 3 months service
* Generous staff discount on our wine portfolio
* A bottle of wine on your birthday and Berkmann anniversary
* Access to support and training
* Being part of a diverse and successful family owned and run company
WORKING PATTERN– Our Customer Services team work flexibly together to get the job done. This role is 37.5 hours per week and will cover a shift pattern of 7.5 hours per day between the hours 9:00 – 18:00 Monday to Thursday and 9:00 – 17:30 on a Friday (with an unpaid break of 1 hour) and up to 3 hours on a Sunday (working from home on a rota basis).
You may be required to work some Bank Holidays and will receive payment or time off in lieu for these days.
WORK LOCATION– Our York office is based in Upper Poppleton, and we are currently operating 4 days in the office and 1 day at home. If you are working a Sunday shift this will be from home. During the training period, you will be required to work in the office 5 days per week.
