Role description:
This is an open application pool for Plymouth based engineering roles.
Our graduate GROW programme is a structured 3-year programme, designed to help you evolve and develop skills to become an experienced professional in your chosen field. You’ll benefit from training and development, mentoring, and assistance for accreditations relevant to your programme, as well as the support and guidance you need to develop and succeed. As a GROW graduate, you will be empowered to drive your career and will be exposed to a variety of experiences to help you gain the skills you require to succeed.
As an engineer joining GROW, you will be given the opportunity to specialise within your chosen discipline of engineering. We ensure you obtain the appropriate experiences needed to become a technical expert. Being an Engineer at Arcadis involves applying a human filter to your technical expertise and training, making an impact through innovation and creativity. During this three-year programme, you will develop core engineering and consulting techniques applicable to work with our clients in the UK and potentially internationally.
Our Intern & Placement programme offers hands-on insight into our work and helps develop skills within your chosen field. Supported by targeted training, it aligns with Arcadis’ core values, fostering both personal and professional growth. You will engage with real projects and clients, gaining diverse experiences over a 10–12-week internship or a 12-month placement.
Role accountabilities:
Our civil engineering community works across sectors including highways, rail, energy, and water management. Our projects vary in scale and scope.
This role is based in our Plymouth office within the water engineering team. As a water management engineer, you will work on waste and clean water infrastructure and non-infrastructure assets to deliver sustainable solutions, ensuring resilience and quality of water supplies through innovative and natural solutions. The role may involve site visits and inspections.
Accepted degrees:
* BEng or MEng in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Graduate roles – You will be graduating in 2025 or have recently graduated with at least a 2:2 in a relevant master’s or bachelor’s degree.
* Placement roles – You will be working towards a degree in a relevant subject.
* You will demonstrate typical Arcadian skills including resilience, creativity, analytical thinking, and being a team player.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to use your technical knowledge to influence and consult stakeholders.
* Willing to travel and stay away from home when required (we embrace virtual working where possible).
