Situated in Mawgan, Nr Helston this 15 bed care home offers residential care for the frail, elderly and mentally infirm. We care for people with Dementia, Mental Health Condition, Old Age, Physical Disability, and Sensory Impairment.
Hours 30 per week 8am - 2pm ( flexible by negotiation)
Responsibilities
We are currently seeking professional and experienced Cook to join our team to:
Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals, as and when required.
Provide for special dietary requirements where necessary, and take into account the preferences of individual residents.
Achieving good quality and maintaining high standards of hygiene
Arrange / participate in Staff and Resident meetings as required.
Maintain accurate records of food supplies, and freezer / fridge temperatures.
Ensure stock rotation. Order stocks and check deliveries.
Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required.
Ensure statutory Health and Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas.
Ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately, and that the overall cleaning of the kitchen area (and, where appropriate, the dining areas) is carried out effectively.
Report immediately to the Home Manager, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Resident, colleague, self or another.
Understand, and ensure the implementation of, the homes Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures.

Kitchen Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, ordering, and maintaining a clean and sanitary cooking environment.
Collaboration: Work closely with our dedicated team to ensure a seamless dining experience for residents, considering any dietary restrictions or special requirements.

- Ensure food is cooked properly and served at the right temperature
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
- Assist in meal preparation and presentation
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages or discrepancies

Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate
