An opportunity to play your part – As the successful applicant for Category Specialist you will take responsibility for formulating and implementing a Category strategy through collaboration with stakeholders and Category leads. This entails executing procurement projects aimed at achieving the most favourable commercial outcomes for Centrica.

The day to day –
1. Collaborate with business stakeholders to devise a procurement activity wave plan, considering new business requirements, strategic objectives, emerging risks, and impending supplier contract expirations.
2. Utilize a robust understanding of market dynamics, employing tools such as Porter's Five Forces and Kraljic, as well as cost drivers specific to the goods/services/technology under consideration, to formulate the category strategy.
3. Develop go-to-market strategies in collaboration with business stakeholders.
4. Take the lead in procurement tenders aligned with the category strategy.
5. Lead commercial negotiations.
6. Lead contract drafting and negotiation in partnership with Commercial Legal and specialist legal teams.
7. Drive the development of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities aligned with the Centrica SRM framework.
8. Manage the contract governance process in collaboration with business stakeholders (Group Contracts Committee).
9. Collaborate with risk SME teams to manage risks effectively.
10. Manage and optimize the supplier base within the category, including buying channels and the category playbook, to facilitate tactical sourcing.
11. Work collaboratively across the Procurement Function to enhance the stakeholder experience.
