Van Pack Drainage Engineer

About The Role
Due to continued growth, we are looking for customer‑focused people to join our Utility Division, working on the Thames Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to wastewater network and drainage problems.
Key responsibilities include:
* Travelling to residential sites in a van and powering a high‑pressure water jet for restoration
* Cleaning, maintaining and running diagnostics on drainage systems
* Recording each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided
* Delivering good customer service and maintaining health and safety practice
* Ensuring vehicle stock is full and replenished
* Complying with health and safety responsibilities (PPE, safe site setups, lone worker system)
* Utilising VISTEC and Salesforce platforms
* Working unsupervised in all weather conditions
* Dynamic risk assessment of site access and working conditions
* Liaising with the client regarding process and updates
* Providing support to colleagues
* Inspecting tools, equipment and plant before and after use
* Reporting defects or malfunctions
* Adopting a mature approach to risk perception
* Adhering to Lanes Group policies and responsibilities
* Performing any other reasonable ad‑hoc tasks, duties or projects as requested by management
About You
* Hard‑working, respectful, and compliant with health and safety standards
* Experience with high‑pressure jetting equipment is useful but not essential
* Other drainage qualifications (e.g. NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are an advantage
* Full UK driver’s licence (manual vehicles)
* Ability to work safely, diagnose and deliver practical solutions promptly

Salary and Working Hours
OTE £37,000 per annum (basic pay, overtime, on‑call allowance and bonuses). Monday to Friday, 40 hours plus every other weekend. Flexible hours, 24/7 operations, on‑call rota.
Location: Kidlington Depot, Thames Valley Region (Kidlington, Oxfordshire)
