Technician Location: Buckinghamshire Salary: £54,578 per annum benefits Hours per week: 42 hours per week | 4 on, 4 off Situation We are looking for a skilled Technician to carry out planned and reactive maintenance to ensure vehicles are maintained to the highest standards, supporting safe, compliant, and efficient operations across our network. Your new opportunity You will work a hands-on role as a Technician, involving the inspection, maintenance, and repair of a fleet of buses, coaches, and vans, ensuring full compliance with all company and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair company vehicles Carry out fault diagnosis using modern diagnostic equipment Resolve mechanical and technical issues efficiently and independently Stay up to date with technical developments and support continuous improvement Represent the company professionally at all times The Candidate As a Technician you will be confident working with mechanical components such as engines, brakes, suspension systems, and all other mechanical system You will be comfortable using a variety of hand tools, including torque wrenches, and physically capable of operating them safely and effectively Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings, technical specifications and work instructions Will have experience of Investigating the nature of failures You will have previous experience of working on rolling stock. Essential: City & Guilds Level 3 / NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) Proven experience of working on HGV, PCV, heavy plant, heavy machinery or vehicle maintenance Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability Knowledge of DVSA and Department for Transport standards Previous experience in a similar role Full UK manual driving licence Desirable: PCV licence (or willingness to obtain) Experience with bus bodywork Automotive electrical knowledge IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification Experience using vehicle diagnostic systems What We Offer Competitive salary of £54,578 20 days annual leave bank holidays Contributory pension scheme Free or discounted travel Employee Assistance Programme Are you an experienced Technician looking for your next challenge?
