What you’ll be doing
You will manage and inspire the kitchen team to produce brilliant meals to our high standards. This will include:
1. Controlling and directing the food preparation process and related activities
2. Ensuring consistency in the quality of dishes before they reach the customer
3. Planning orders of equipment and ingredients, managing stock and wastage effectively
4. Remedying any problems or defects
5. Managing and training kitchen staff
6. Overseeing the work of the kitchen team
7. Managing and reviewing team workload to maximize efficiency and standards
8. Implementing all legislative measures and administrative requirements related to food hygiene, licensing, and team collaboration and respect.
You will lead from the front, setting standards and motivating, coaching, and supporting your team to be outstanding.
Note: As holidays often occur during holiday times, and social activities extend into the night, you will need to work bank holidays, evenings, and weekends.
Skills, experience, and qualities you’ll need
Are you dynamic, determined, and enthusiastic? Do you thrive on providing memorable guest experiences and want to be part of a great team? These qualities are essential for our Kitchen Manager role. You will also have:
* Excellent communication skills, including listening to customers and engaging with your team
* Experience of working under pressure and managing workloads during busy periods
* Commercial awareness and experience working in a commercial environment, striving to excel in your area of expertise
* Knowledge of regulations such as health & safety and food safety audits, ensuring colleagues understand and adhere to them
* Strong leadership skills to build a high-performing team and oversee all aspects of the kitchen, including P&L, yields, people, standards, legal compliance, service, and brand integrity
* NVQ and relevant food hygiene certificates
