Social Worker - Children and Young People in Care Service (3 vacancies) Salary - £44,075 -£49,282 (Grade 7) Hours - Monday to Friday (37 hours) Contract type - full time, permanent Work Style - Field: working in communities across the city Our Service Our Children and Young People in Care Service has three dynamic and nurturing teams committed to driving permanency for our children and young people. Our Service fits seamlessly alongside our REACH Leaving Care Team giving our children the best preparation for adulthood beyond our care. Our work is varied supporting children and young people in our care long term, including kinship and reunification plans, as well as leaving our care through adoption and Special Guardianship. We work to support children to leave our care with great links to a range of services to support children overcome the trauma, loss and separation they have experienced. We work along our successful Families First Pathfinder services to provide seamless support for children and families. The Children’s Social Care workforce work together across services to deliver the best possible outcomes for our children and support each other to achieve our vision. We write to the child and are well supported by our Youth Engagement and Participation Service to co-produce policies with young people. We ensure all our social workers have the time to work closely with their young people to undertake great quality direct work for our Children and Young People in Care. We are well supported by our Homefinding Team and Fostering Service who are available, approachable, and work creatively to find the best and most stable homes for our children. We believe all of our children have the right to be well-supported to independence in adulthood and we have our own Supported Accommodation Service which along with our House Project enables young people to learn everything they need to know to live independently. Our working arrangements All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empower employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocated where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location. Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
