This is a day-shift, Panama-pattern role in a well-established food manufacturing site producing high-volume, high-quality chilled products for major UK retailers. The site has been operating for decades, is financially stable, and is now pushing major upgrades across machinery, automation and site-wide performance. The role As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be part of a tight-knit engineering team keeping a busy food factory running smoothly. You’ll split your time between: * Reactive breakdown work across production, packaging and utilities * Planned and preventative maintenance to reduce downtime * Supporting machinery upgrades, line improvements and new equipment installs * Ensuring hygiene, quality and safety standards are met at all times * Driving continuous improvement across the plant It’s a role for someone who likes getting stuck in, solving problems fast and seeing the impact of their work on output. Shift pattern – Days (2-2-3) Week 1: Mon, Tue, 3 off, Fri, Sat, Sun Week 2: 2 off, Wed, Thu, 3 off (12-hour days, 6am–6pm) What you need * Apprentice trained (Electrical or Mechanical) * NVQ3 / ONC / HNC in a relevant engineering discipline * Food, FMCG, automotive or pharmaceutical manufacturing experience * Strong understanding of CI tools, TPM and modern maintenance practices * Confident working with safe systems of work: LOTO, PUWER, permits * Good GMP awareness and a positive, hands-on approach What you get * £42,383 salary * 20 shifts holiday * Clear development pathway within engineering * Benefits & recognition hub with strong retail discounts * A stable, supportive environment with long-term prospects
