Attendance Officer - Secondary School (Hounslow)

Veritas Education is working with a well-regarded secondary school in Hounslow that is seeking an experienced Attendance Officer to join their team immediately. This is a key role within the school's pastoral and safeguarding structure, helping to ensure that all students are supported to maintain excellent attendance.
Responsibilities
* Monitor and track daily student attendance using the school's management information system (e.g., SIMS/Arbor/Bromcom)
* Make first-day absence calls and follow up on unexplained absences
* Work closely with Heads of Year, pastoral teams, and families to address attendance concerns
* Prepare reports and maintain accurate records
* Liaise with external agencies where required
* Support safeguarding processes related to attendance
Requirements
* Must have prior experience in an attendance role within a school setting
* Strong IT and data entry skills (MIS experience essential)
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle sensitive information
* Knowledge of safeguarding and attendance legislation is desirable
