SEN Learning Support Assistant
Milk Education are currently recruiting for Secondary SEN Learning Support Assistants to work across a variety of secondary schools in Darlington from September.
We are looking for supportive, resilient and enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about helping young people with additional needs to thrive both academically and emotionally within the classroom.
The role will involve supporting pupils across KS3 and KS4 on both a 1:1 basis and within small group settings. You may work with pupils with a range of additional needs including:
1. Autism (ASC)
2. ADHD
3. SEMH needs
4. Learning difficulties
5. Speech & Language needs
6. Trauma and emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA)
The Role:
7. Supporting pupils within mainstream secondary classrooms
8. Providing 1:1 and small group interventions
9. Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
10. Building strong relationships with pupils and staff
11. Supporting pupils to access learning and achieve their potential
We Are Looking For:
12. Experience working with children or young people with SEND/SEMH needs
13. A calm, patient and adaptable approach
14. Strong communication and relationship-building skills
15. Experience within schools, youth work, care, coaching or support work is desirable
16. A genuine passion for supporting young people
