At Affinity Trust, we support people to live meaningful lives on their own terms. As a Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in promoting independence, building social connections, and offering compassionate, tailored care. In this role, you will support adults with diverse needs such as learning disabilities, Autism, Parkinson’s, Down syndrome, Cerebral palsy and positive behaviour support. You will provide essential support to people we support during the day, fostering connections and sharing interests. Whether they love watching late-night movies in their home, in the community, or need assistance getting up early, your presence will be invaluable. You will build meaningful relationships and offer thoughtful, responsive care, empowering individuals to navigate life with confidence and independence.
Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality, person-centred care, helping people live life their way. This includes companionship, personal care, support with medication, finances, meals, household tasks, appointments, shopping, activities, and even trips away.
* Support individuals to stay connected with friends, family, and their community; encourage independence and build confidence.
* Work a full-time rota between 7:00am and 10:00pm, with flexibility required.
* Attend meetings, training, and complete daily records.
* Adapt support to individual needs and goals; plan activities and meals with the people you support.
* Advocate for access to services and opportunities in the community.
* Strong communication and written skills; ability to work well in a team and independently.
* Demonstrate compassion, creativity, and flexibility in supporting others.
