Position Overview: As a Painting & Decorating Tutor, you will have the opportunity to inspire and shape the careers of aspiring painters and decorators. Your role will involve delivering engaging training sessions, practical demonstrations, and theory lessons to help learners develop their skills and knowledge. Key Responsibilities: Conduct dynamic and informative training sessions on various aspects of painting and decorating, including surface preparation, color theory, paint application techniques, wallpapering, and more. Deliver hands-on demonstrations and provide guidance to learners of different skill levels, ensuring they understand and practice proper techniques. Develop and update training materials, lesson plans, and assessments that align with industry standards and best practices. Offer constructive feedback and support to learners, assisting them in improving their skills and overcoming challenges. Collaborate with the curriculum development team to enhance the quality and relevance of our painting and decorating training programs. Stay abreast of industry trends, new materials, tools, and techniques to ensure the delivery of up-to-date content. Monitor and evaluate learner progress, maintaining accurate records of assessments and achievements. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting teamwork, respect, and professionalism. Qualifications and Experience: Previous experience working as a painter or decorator is essential, as it will provide the foundation for teaching others. Teaching or training experience is advantageous, but not essential. We encourage applications from painters and decorators interested in transitioning to a tutoring role. A relevant qualification in painting and decorating, construction, or a related field is preferred, but practical experience will also be considered. In-depth knowledge of painting and decorating techniques, tools, materials, and industry best practices. Passion for sharing knowledge, mentoring others, and helping individuals achieve their career goals. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners of diverse backgrounds and skill levels. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively to deliver comprehensive and engaging training sessions. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of learners and accommodate varying schedules.
