Overview

Fixed Term Contract: 9 months. Working hours: part-time, job-share and full-time basis. Location: Swindon (hybrid working; approximately 2 days per week in the Swindon office). Advertising: Internal and external. Closing Date: 12 September 2025. The opportunity: join the UK Life Reporting team as an Assistant Accountant. You will support quarterly and annual financial reporting under IFRS and Local Statutory, and prepare internal and external financial information to balance financial performance, compliance, and customer satisfaction. You will help the department achieve its operational objectives and deliver a high-quality service. We welcome flexible working arrangements and will discuss needed flexibility at interview.

What will you be doing?

* Preparation and review of key reports during quarter and year end to support IFRS reporting requirements and commentary.
* Ongoing analysis and oversight of SAP ledgers; support with intercompany balance queries, cash management and journal entries/queries.
* Support the preparation of annual statutory accounts and year-end audit.
* Continually challenge and improve processes.
* Provide broader team support as required.


What are we looking for?

* You will be studying towards an accounting qualification.
* Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas; PowerQuery experience is an advantage.
* Excellent time and task management skills.
* Strong communication skills.
* Enthusiastic, curious, and a quick learner with a can-do attitude.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a high level of agility.
* Knowledge of financial systems and business platforms (SAP an advantage).
