We are seeking dedicated and highly motivated individuals to join our team as a Business Support Officer. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, office-based environment, supporting face-to-face child protection conferences.
The Role:
You will work closely with the child protection chair to ensure they have the necessary information to effectively chair the meeting. You will provide support to facilitate the smooth running of the conference.
The minutes are vital legal records and must be clear, precise, and timely. You will be responsible for accurately recording discussions and capturing any agreed actions made during child protection conferences.
Prior to the conference, you will ensure professional reports are distributed to participants and uploaded onto systems. After the conference, you will ensure the minutes and decisions are distributed to all attendees within statutory timescales.
You will manage key tasks such as:
1. Coordinating diaries and arranging meetings.
2. Minute-taking for complex, sensitive multi-agency meetings (to be completed within 24 hours).
3. Maintaining and updating key databases.
4. Handling sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
5. Supporting internal and external stakeholders with excellent communication.
About You:
You must have experience producing clear, concise, and accurate minutes with strong writing skills.
You will provide comprehensive, professional, and proactive administrative support to our Children’s Social Care Assessment team. Your ability to work under pressure, prioritize competing demands, and deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines is vital.
You should also demonstrate the ability to:
* Work independently, taking ownership and accountability for tasks.
* Show motivation to deliver high-quality work consistently.
* Ensure all returns are completed accurately, meeting statutory deadlines and quality standards.
* Utilize a wide range of software programs effectively.
* Commit to reducing errors in work processes.
* Foster and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Identify learning gaps and regularly assess and improve performance.
* Adhere to high standards of attendance, punctuality, and conduct.
We seek a self-starter who is adaptable, reliable, and organized, with a commitment to continuous improvement and professional excellence. If you are passionate about making a difference in child protection, please submit a supporting statement addressing the shortlisted criteria.
