Reading and interpreting engineering & assembly drawings, tolerances, materials and geometry.\nDevelop competence in operating manual & CNC machines including lathes & milling machines working within tight tolerances and high level of Quality to produce components and parts to support the installation of equipment on our Type 26 ships.\nGain experience in selecting tools, fixtures, jigs and manipulate setting speeds, feeds and calibration of tooling.\nDevelop ability to program and adjust CNC machines using CAD/CAM software to program specific parts and also adjust existing CNC programs including speeds, tool paths and feed.\nGain additional experience in using Measuring equipment like micrometres, callipers and gauges.\nGain experience in problem solving and process improvement. Performing Engineering Operations SVQ2\nNational Certificate in Mechanical Engineering\n(Optional Higher National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering)\nLevel 7 Engineering Diploma Pathway C: Engineering Technical Support 5 National 4s (or equivalent) â which must include Maths (excluding Application of Maths) & English & a Science / Technical Subject.
