MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Carry out caretaking duties in accordance with the Caretaking Services specification, Operations Manual, and under the direction of the Campus Service Manager. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
2. Training and supporting School Letting staff.
3. Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation and Academy policies by yourself and cleaners.
4. Managing the security of large, complex sites, including opening and securing premises, monitoring CCTV systems, and responding to security issues during unsociable hours or weekends.
5. Operation and maintenance of BMS systems and associated tasks.
6. Performing emergency lighting tests and recording results.
7. Conducting mandatory testing of systems such as sprinklers and water systems, including showers and eye washes.
8. Monitoring and maintaining water levels and backwashing of Hydro pools.
9. Reporting utility and solar panel usage.
10. Managing the Academy Van.
11. Monitoring property condition, undertaking minor repairs, and routine maintenance.
12. Overseeing contractors to ensure work meets standards.
13. Ensuring operational effectiveness of ventilation, access points, and firefighting equipment.
14. Maintaining external areas by keeping them free of litter, debris, snow, and ice, and ensuring bins are emptied regularly.
15. Keeping toilet areas clean and stocked with toiletries.
16. Performing porterage duties, including setting up for events and exams, and reporting damages.
17. Managing stock and assisting with receipt and storage of goods.
18. Maintaining janitorial equipment and performing periodic cleaning tasks, including changing bulbs and cleaning surfaces at height.
19. Providing inductions for contractors and checking building maintenance schedules.
20. Attending training sessions as required.
21. Providing cover at other campuses as needed and performing other duties as deemed appropriate by the CEO and in line with the post's nature and grade.
