Job Purpose
The Head of Brand (Imperial Leather and Sanctuary Spa) plays a pivotal role in shaping and driving the organisation's brand strategy, ensuring a consistent and compelling brand identity across all touchpoints. This leadership position is responsible for developing and implementing initiatives that strengthen the brand's presence, resonate with target audiences, and contribute to the overall success of the business.
Function Overview
The role reports to the Marketing and Innovation Director, who leads the Europe Marketing function with specialist teams across Brand, Content and Product, supported by Insights and Project capability. The Brand teams have 3-5 direct and indirect reports.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
* Lead a cross-functional Brand team responsible for delivery of the Branded P&L, accountable for all elements of the brand mix to deliver budgeted Sales and Profit.
* Develop and deliver the 3-year Brand positioning, strategy & commercial plans, engaging the wider commercial team, senior stakeholders, aligned to the broader business plan, financial goals and ambitions.
* Lead strategy and agency management for all brand fundamental activation workstreams e.g. PR, social, shopper, media planning, sampling, partnerships and events, and reviews.
* Work with the Head of Product on recommendations around improvements to the current branded portfolio, optimising Price, Pack, Architecture mix for optimal revenue growth.
* Work with the Product team to unlock the strongest 3-year NPD pipeline in line with brand strategy and also ensuring it delivers against the short-term business needs and the longer-term innovation drivers.
* Lead the development of a long term strategic creative platform for the brand and a relevant, high impact advertising and communications program that drives cut through and delivers profitable ROI. Work with external agency partners to deliver executional excellence.
* Lead and engage your direct team and others, understanding capability and resource gaps, and building a team fit for the longer-term business goals.
* Work with the Head of Content to deliver best in category brand identity and content/toolkits.
Key Technical Skills And Experience
* Experienced FMCG Marketeer with a varied experience delivering long term growth of ‘leader’ and ‘challenger’ brands.
* Proven experience of having developed both positioning and innovation platforms, both built on consumer insights.
* Proven track record of leading P&L delivery working with commercial teams and a strong understanding of IBP processes.
* Experience of leading team’s ad developing talent.
* Demonstrable ability to develop compelling brand vision and strategies, including high performing multimedia communication campaigns to build brands for long term growth.
* Experience of taking accountability for leading and delivering large, complex projects including innovation, NPD, EPD and brand campaigns.
* Proven ability to identify and apply insight to drive brand performance, including experience of developing and working with need states segmentation.
