My client specialises in automation within the manufacturing sector and is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in the Worcester area.
Key Responsibilities
* Responsible for the design and development of various automation solutions
* Use Inventor 3D CAD software on a day‑to‑day basis
* Develop ideas from concept to production
* Liaise with clients and develop solutions for design specifications
* Collaborate with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects
* Maintain technical drawings and documentation
* Provide technical guidance and support
* Support product testing, verification, and validation
Required Qualifications
* HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or related field
* At least 3 years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in a manufacturing environment
* Proficiency with 3D CAD tools: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor or similar
* Knowledge of automated systems, conveyors, SPM, etc.
* Ability to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgets
* Experience working to customer specifications and altering designs based on requirements
* Skill in maintaining technical documentation and BOM entry
* Knowledge of different materials such as sheet metal fabrication
* Innovative, accurate, and passionate about design
* Technically minded with strong problem‑solving skills
* Excellent leadership and organisational skills
* Ability to work well individually and as part of a team
