Overview
An exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Dietitian (Mental Health & CAMHS) to join the busy Mental Health Dietetics Service based at South Essex. The team is friendly and growing and welcomes new members who share a passion for improving access and quality of care for people with Mental Health conditions in MH inpatient units, community settings and CAMHS. The post is part time at 18.75 hours per week with flexible working arrangements that can be agreed.
Candidates seeking Band 5 development positions will also be considered. The post holder will work within the CAMHS & Mental Health Dietetics team in EPUT MH Services, operating as a dietetic practitioner within uni-professional and multi-professional teams with regular supervision. The role includes leadership and supervision opportunities for junior staff and students.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist assessment and management of dietetic care for service users, in collaboration with the MDT to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care in CAMHS, adult and older adult mental health services.
* Operate as a specialist practitioner with a high degree of autonomy for planning and delivering treatment on your own caseload under supervision from senior specialist dietitians.
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to contribute to treatment plans and provide expertise on dietetic/nutritional management to service users, carers and other health care professionals in Trust premises and community locations.
* Participate in peer group supervision, contribute to training, supervision and support of colleagues and students, and may lead clinical audits or undertake research.
* Support the supervision or management of students, basic grade dietitians and dietetics assistants within the professional group and locality in line with Trust HR processes.
* Work collaboratively with partner organisations, service users, carers and clinicians to deliver a 7 day a week, 24 hours a day service where appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience
* Qualified Dietitian with current registration and eligible to practice within the NHS.
* Demonstrable interest and motivation in CAMHS & Mental Health Dietetics and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
* Experience or interest in leadership, supervision and development of junior staff and students.
* Ability to work autonomously with comprehensive clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice in mental health settings.
